Living in Norrath isn’t just about tradeskilling and going to the bank; there’s some scary stuff out there. Take, for example, this cow:
There is nothing more horrifying than taking a stroll through Windstalker Village only to be mauled and ravaged by clinically insane livestock. And yet this very thing occurs at least five times a year in the land of Norrath, typically during the Decay season.
Still not convinced? Here is another shocking photograph of what is perhaps the most frightening creature this side of Nektulos Forest:
Because it wants you dead, and it will stop at nothing until it is able to feast upon your entrails (research out of Concordium Tower in South Qeynos suggests that fatalities caused by deer outnumber those caused by Gnolls, Golems, and bats combined).
Still, citizens of Norrath learn to cope with the existence of these monstrous aberrations.

Back when I played Everquest 2, I was a part of at least three separate guilds. And if there’s any one problem with the combination of guilds and Everquest 2, it’s that EQ2 has a noticeable lack of things to do as a guild.
What this leads to is an empty void within these guilds that is inevitably filled by politics and drama.

I used to play Pirates of the Burning Sea, back during open beta and the first couple weeks after launch (technically pre-launch, I suppose, but that doesn’t matter now).
It was a decent game. Nothing groundbreaking, but different enough in setting and gameplay to warrant a purchase. What I didn’t expect was for the game to totally bomb the moment open beta ended and the actual game began. Read the rest of this entry »
